Baby B had his/her first photo-shoot today! Just look at my little cutie-patootie! In this picture you can see the head towards the right and the bum towards the left. You can also see a foot near the bum and a hand "floating" in the background. This isn't the best picture that was taken; unfortunately for us the Ultrasound Technician was a little stingy with her photo paper, and we only have one picture to show. You could see both hands and feet in the best photo... it was a great profile shot. We'll get more ultrasound photos along the way, and even though this one wasn't the best, it's still pretty darn cute and amazing!!!When the tech first found our baby, our baby was napping. Baby B was very still. I was a little nervous at first, and then once I saw the heart beating... I was on cloud nine! My pregnancy all of a sudden became very real for the first time! I teared up, and Matt almost cried. We were both just so excited! Seeing the hands and feet/arms and legs was pretty cool. We could also see the spine and indentations where the eyes are. The tech informed us that Baby B's heart is beating 171 times per minute! My supervisor feels that because the heart rate is so high, our baby will be a girl. She said if it was lower, it would more likely be a boy. We'll have to wait 10 more weeks before we can see the sex of little Baby B. Any guesses? Any gut feelings? Matt really wants to have a little girl first. I kind of wanted a boy first. However, just having a healthy baby is all that really matters, and we will both be totally stoked either way!
Here's to you kid! Glad I was able to see you for the very first time today Baby B. You made my heart melt! Looking forward to meeting you in 7 months!
One last tidbit: My first due date was projected for the 13th of September. Today, the ultrasound indicated the 11th of September for the due date. Guess this can change back and forth. Again, we'll just have to wait and see!
Almost forgot... while Baby B mostly napped today during the US appointment, he/she did move just a little. It looked like Baby B hick-upped and kicked once or twice, then turned to lay on the right side. Adorable!
