My Little Grape

Here is the 9 week update:

At 9 weeks, our baby is about the size of a grape! Baby B is almost an inch long and weighs about a fraction of an ounce. Essential body parts are accounted for. The heart finishes dividing into 4 chambers and valves start to form. Tiny teeth start to form as well. The embryonic tail is completely gone. And organs, muscles and nerves are kicking into gear. External sex organs are present, but will not be distinguishable for another few weeks. Baby B's eyes are fully formed and eyelids are fused down. [The eyelids won't open until 27 weeks.] Tiny earlobes, mouth, nose and nostrils are more distinct. And according to babycenter.com, now that my baby's physiology is in place... baby is ready for rapid weight gain. Oh my!

Here is another picture of the above grape with a lemon, just to give ya a better view of the size of the little green fruit:I am still amazed at how quickly our baby is growing. I just can't wrap my brain around it. The whole process is beautiful and breathtaking! I thank God for our little miracle every day. I am so excited to be 2 MONTHS PREGNANT!

Tonight on the dinner menu: homemade meatloaf (my mom's fabulous recipe), homemade garlic mashed potatoes (my husband's yummy recipe) and steamed cabbage with good ole bacon/bacon grease! Baby B is eating well tonight! I just love southern food.

As you can probably tell, I have food on the brain... what with writing about dinner and posting pictures of fruit and all. Good thing it's time to eat!

Enjoy dinner everyone!
