A Pea In The Pod

On January 11th, my husband and I learned that we are expecting our first child. Our little pea in the pod was fantastic news, considering we had been trying to get pregnant for two years! Little Baby "B" is due mid September, and although it feels like forever before I get to meet my little bundle of joy, I realize the time will come & go and we will have a new addition to our family before we know it.

When Matt and I first started trying, I had the strangest dream: I was 9 months preggo, bursting at the seams, ready to pop. I had a beautiful round belly. In the dream, Matt and I were watching my tummy and saw the imprint of the baby's hand move across the surface. We were so excited, so we stared in amazement waiting for the next grand gesture. Then, we saw the outline of the foot, and became even more excited. As we watched my belly, we both got these puzzling looks on our faces. We glanced at each other, and then looked back at my tummy. Yes, it was the outline of our baby's face! Then our "little pea" started pressing her face so hard against my tummy that we could clearly see what she was going to look like (we knew she was going to be a girl.) All of a sudden, like Casper the ghost, she floated out of my belly and into our arms, umbilical cord still attached. Matt and I were so happy playing with our baby that we were giggling with glee. Finally, again like Casper, our little one floated back into my tummy. I told Matt it was time to push, and I woke up.

As crazy as that dream was, it let me know that I was going to be over-the-moon for my baby. I realized I wanted more than anything to be a mom, and that I was going to have a blast with my new-found role. The time was right, we were ready to welcome a baby into our home.

Today's hope for my pea in the pod: Grow well Baby. Grow strong and healthy. I love you so much and can't wait to meet you. Until then, enjoy the little home I am providing for you. Your daddy and I are so very happy that you are in our lives! Love you bunches kiddo!
