Building A Strong Foundation...

I'm so excited! My friend Maile studies child development, ran her own daycare, and grew up around babies and kids. She is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to understanding how children develop and what their needs are along the way. I, on the other hand, never grew up around babies or little kids. I have no clue as to what to do when it comes to infants, toddlers, etc. So, my dear friend has been kind enough to let me borrow one of her college books [THE DEVELOPING PERSON: Through Childhood and Adolescence, by Kathleen S. Berger]. I am very excited to learn about the different stages of development of the ever-growing kiddo. People say being a parent comes naturally. And while that may be true, I want to learn as much as I can to be as prepared as I can be when Baby B arrives. I think a strong foundation of principle can go a long way to building a sturdy home for a loving family. Therefore, I am tapping into a fountain of knowledge... seeking all known resources... so that I can be the best mommy I can be. It's all for you Baby B! And thanks again Maile!

(Oh, the above picture was taken this past New Year's Eve... when I was hoping to be pregnant!)
